By voting in good citizens in the in the democratic process. Citizens vote for leaders to represent them and their ideas, and the leaders support the citizens’ interests. There are two special rights only for U.S. citizens: voting in federal elections and running for federal office.
To contribute as citizens towards making Nigeria a working Country, individually, we need to do this;
1. Within our own microcosm, we must be dutiful, honest and fair in dealing with fellow Nigerians. Do your work that you are paid for and don’t demand financial gratification before attending to a file or the document processing of an Applicant in your office.
2. As citizens, we must learn to speak out loud against our leaders when there are signs of bad governance or leadership. Many Nigerians are too docile and laid back, even influential and respected Nigerians are guilty of this.
3. You must be active politically. Identify good candidates and make every effort to vote in such people. Sitting at home during elections would not help the cause. Every vote counts.
